Ranjit remembers one of the first asian shops Virdee Stores

Ranjit Thandi was born in 1948 and has lived in Northfleet since 1980. By the early 1980s there were several Indian restaurants in Gravesend High Street, Wrotham Road etc. Virdee Stores in Arthur Street was the first shop specialising in Asian sweets and records.
